Author Guidelines
- Articles must be sent at the e-mail address: essachess@gmail.com
- Articles should be written according the guidelines available here. The entire article (title, abstracts, main text, figures, tables, references, etc.) must be sent according to the following guidelines.
- Articles submitted for publication normally range from 6000 to 8000 words, written in French OR English. Articles must not have been previously published or be pending publication elsewhere. APA STYLE guidelines are compulsory for the submission of the article: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/general_format.html
- Articles must be accompanied by an abstract in French and English (8 lines in lenght), and up to 5 keywords.
- Authors have to submit a title page that includes only the manuscript title, abstract, keywords, the author list (names, affiliations, emails), and the corresponding author’s contact information.
- Authors have to submit a document with the completely anonymized manuscript. Authors have formatted the manuscript according to the guidelines made available at the journal’s website.
- Authors have to provide an ORCID IDs. If the authors do not already have an ORCID ID, they have to register here, and access the ORCID website to learn more.
- All tables and figures are placed within the text at the appropriate reference points, rather than at the end of the article. All tables and figures must be numbered.
- All figures used are in TIFF image file format at a 300 dpi resolution or higher. Captions must be provided for all figures. Figures should be placed IN the body of the text (NOT in separate files to the text files), in their appropriate position.
- Materials can be sent via e-mail, as an attachment, formatted as Microsoft Word to essachess@gmail.com
- Please do not send the text before consulting the guidelines and editing the text, the endnotes and the references accordingly. Please also refer to the Peer Review section and the Author duties paragraph.

Book reviews
Book review manuscripts may vary and range from 400 to 450 words.
Book reviews must be sent via E-mail as Word Document attachments to essachess@gmail.com
Detailed information about the reviewed book should be listed in the following order: Book title; author(s); publication year; publisher; city; total number of pages.
The reviewer's name, academic degree, title, and contact details (institutional affiliation mailing address, and E-mail address) should be listed.
Book review manuscript must be accompanied by a digital photo of the book cover in .jpeg or .jpg format
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which are available above.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
- Essachess – Journal for Communication Studies requests authors prior to submitting a manuscript provide a conflict of interest statement, to warrant no such conflicts exist.
- Authors have to declare funding sources (if any).
- Authors have included in their submission an ORCID number.
- Authors have obtained the necessary copyright for drawings, illustrations, cartoons, etc. for which the copyright is held by the third party.
- Editors and journal staff are not involved in editorial process and decisions about their own research work submitted to the journal. Essachess – Journal for Communication Studies handles submissions from editors and members of its editorial board as following:
- editors and editorial team and board are not allowed to take part to publication process and decision when they are authors or have contributed to a submitted manuscript.
- for ensuring a fair peer review in editorial team in the case of a submission from editors and members of editorial board, the journal requests the author do not communicate directly with the editor-in-chief. The author should communicate directly only with the assistant editor in charge.
- for ensuring a fair peer review in editorial team in the case of a submission from editors and members of editorial board, the journal requests any author will not be given special treatment.
