Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.


Author Guidelines

Articles must be sent at least five months before publishing the journal at the e-mail address:

Manuscripts should be written according the guidelines available in the annex. The entire article (title, abstracts, main text, figures, tables, references, etc.) must be sent in ONE document before the deadline.

Articles submitted for publication normally range from 6000 to 8000 words, written in French or English. Articles must not have been previously published or be pending publication elsewhere.

Texts must be accompanied by:

- an abstract in French and English (8 lines in lenght),

- up to 5 key words,

- the author's biographical information (professional title, didactic position, institutional affiliation, contact information, and email address),

Book reviews

Book review manuscripts may vary and range from 400 to 450 words.

Book reviews must be sent via E-mail as Word Document attachments to

Detailed information about the reviewed book should be listed in the following order: Book title; author(s); publication year; publisher; city; total number of pages.

The reviewer's name, academic degree, title, and contact details (institutional affiliation mailing address, and E-mail address) should be listed.

Book review manuscript must be accompanied by a digital photo of the book cover in .jpeg or .jpg format

Pour soumettre un article adresser le manuscrit, sous format électronique, à l’adresse mail :


Les articles (d'environ 6000-8000 mots) peuvent être soumis en français ou en anglais et ils doivent être accompagnés d`un résumé en français et en anglais (200-250 mots), 5 mots-clés, des noms, affiliations, et adresses mail de tous les auteurs, en indiquant le contact avec l'auteur.

Les articles doivent être rédigés en accord avec les normes présentées dans le guide de rédaction qui peut être téléchargé en cliquant sur le document ci-dessous.

Notes de lecture

La note de lecture doit compter environ 3000 signes espace compris.


Le manuscrit format Word sera adressé par mail en fichier attaché à l’adresse suivante :


La note doit être accompagnée du titre de l'ouvrage recensé, du nom de l'auteur (s), de l’année de publication, l’éditeur, la ville et le nombre total de pages.


Le nom du recenseur, son affiliation et adresse mail doivent être mentionnés au bas de la note de lecture.


La note de lecture doit être accompagnée d'une photo numérique de la couverture du livre sous format .jpeg ou.jpg.


La revue publie également des annonces éditoriales.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.

  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

    If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

  6. Essachess – Journal for Communication Studies requests authors prior to submitting a manuscript provide a conflict of interest statement, to warrant no such conflicts exist.

  7. The authors have to declare funding sources (if any).

  8. Editors and journal staff are not involved in editorial process and decisions about their own research work submitted to the journal. Essachess – Journal for Communication Studies handles submissions from editors and members of its editorial board as following:

    -       editors and editorial team and board are not allowed to take part to publication process and decision when they are authors or have contributed to a submitted manuscript.

    -       for ensuring a fair peer review in editorial team in the case of a submission from editors and members of editorial board, the journal requests the author do not communicate directly with the editor-in-chief. The author should communicate directly only with the assistant editor in charge.

    -       for ensuring a fair peer review in editorial team in the case of a submission from editors and members of editorial board, the journal requests any author will not be given special treatment.
