Résumé : Dans une approche interdisciplinaire liant notamment ritual studies, microsociologie, anthropologie et le paradigme de la communication engageante, cet article aborde pour sujet d’étude le mariage catholique. Il s’agit d’une première tentative destinée à envisager la force du lien institué dans le mariage catholique, en s’attachant plus particulièrement aux contextes d’interaction et de communication. Il est suggéré que, dans l’avenir, des rapprochements pourraient être faits entre rites et engagement, au sens de la théorie du même nom.

The Catholic Marriage Rite: a Binding and Founding Communication Context

Abstract: Through an interdisciplinary approach linking ritual studies, microsociology, anthropology and the binding communication paradigm in particular, this article broaches upon Catholic marriage as a subject of studies. This is a first attempt at considering the strength of the link established in the Catholic marriage, by focusing more notably on interaction and communication contexts. It is suggested that in the future, connections could be drawn between rites and commitment, according to the meaning of the very same theory.
