In a communicational approach, the link between media and mediation(s) noted by past and recent studies highlights a wide range of contributions to this territory. On the one hand, studied as concepts, media and mediation(s) allow theoretical insight; on the other hand, studied as practical notions, they refer to a structural study, to a professional framework. The main objective of this issue aims to provide an international perspective on the research results and the problems related to the concept of mediations and media, from an empirical or theoretical point of view. A significant part of the mediation system set up in the different media - press, television, radio, Internet - has been explored from a conceptual or practical point of view in its relationship to time, in its relationship to the material and/or human environment or in its relationship between emission and reception. It therefore seemed interesting to us to take into account the innovative resources used, the decision-making processes, the authorities, the professionals involved in order to evaluate, in the long term, the evolution of the mediation system.
